Each time a document is changed and saved in either OneDrive or SharePoint, either by using the Save action or allowing AutoSave to do the job, another version of the document is created.
If you just copy data from Excel to PowerPoint, it will simply paste a table into PowerPoint that neither links it to the original data nor pastes an Excel object.
